DAVE
SCHMIDT; A
Man of Integrity
In
reading The Herald article giving information on the three
candidates running for the state House seat, Position 1 in
District 44, I couldn't help but notice that Dave Schmidt was
the only one of the three who was able to favorably promote
his own candidacy without making negative comments about
either of his opponents.
For
me, this shows that he lives his public life with the same
high level of integrity that I have seen in his private life
for the 19 years that I have known him and his family.
This
kind of integrity in the public spectrum is priceless.
I'm voting for Rep. Dave Schmidt.

The
Herald
states:
"Dave
Schmidt is one elected official who is always willing to
listen. In a season where some are being chastised for
strongly held personal beliefs, and political scheming has
become second nature, Schmidt stands out as a gentleman."
"Dave's
one of the hardest working legislators in Olympia. But more
important, he has a talent for bringing people together,
finding consensus and getting things done." ~
Clyde
Ballard, former Speaker of the House
"If
everyone worked like Dave Schmidt this place would be far
better off in the way we work," said Rep. Cathy Wolfe who
lives, works and represents the Olympia beltway in the
Legislature." ~ Kathy
Wolfe, Former Legislator, Current Thurston County
Commissioner, Democrat
"Schmidt,
a Republican, is right on the mark when he says the House
needs good senior leadership. He has a solid reputation among
fellow legislators on both sides of the aisle."
~ The Herald
"Dave
Schmidt is getting a reputation as a number cruncher on the
House Appropriations Committee. He is a self-described
conservative with a pragmatic streak." ~
Seattle
Times
The
Enterprise
"Schmidt,
a state legislator since 1995, has an insider's view of both
state and local governments. Even at the state level, he
has stayed focused on local issues, including the glaring need
posed by transportation problems.
"Schmidt
connects the issues of population density, traffic congestion
and affordable housing in a way that shows an awareness of how
government decisions can cause a ripple effect.
".
. . Schmidt's experience in Olympia gives him the edge."
The
Herald
"Schmidt
is an extraordinarily hard-working, fair-minded state
representative. He has a deep history in local community
affairs that he has built upon to become the
Republicans' expert on election and local government laws. And
his knowledge in those fields -- as others -- is used in ways
that reflect Schmidt's integrity and consistently good
judgment."
The
Seattle Weekly
Vote
for common sense
"Washington
state needs a hero so we'll
nominate State Representative Dave Schmidt."
The
Bothell Republican has already established himself as the
voice of common sense in Olympia on the topic of election
reform. Now, thanks to our chaotic national election, he just
may get some much-deserved support from his colleagues.
